Book Reader Privacy Policy

In short: Book Reader does not collect or upload any of your personal information and has no account system. Your books, progress and settings stay on your own device. Ads are served by Google AdMob and handled under Google's policies; we cannot access your advertising identifier.
1. Information We Collect
We do not collect or store any personal information.
Book Reader has no registration or login, requests no personal information (name, phone number, email, contacts, location, etc.), and reports nothing to us or any third-party server.
1.1 Advertising & Advertising Identifier
This app displays ads via Google AdMob to support free operation. Ads are served directly by Google:
- Google may use the Advertising ID and other device information to serve ads, prevent fraud, and measure performance, governed by the Google Ads Policies and Google Privacy Policy.
- We (the developer) cannot access or store your advertising identifier or ad-interaction data; it is handled directly by Google.
- In the EEA, UK and other applicable regions, we show Google's consent form before serving personalized ads.
- You can reset your advertising identifier or opt out of personalized ads at any time in your device settings.
2. Where Data Is Stored
The following data is stored locally on your device (in the app sandbox) and is deleted entirely when you uninstall:
- Books you import (TXT / EPUB files)
- Book metadata and cover cache
- Reading progress, font/theme and other reading settings
- Online book-source configurations
3. Network Requests
Only when you use the online book-source search/reading feature does the app send network requests — directly to the book-source websites you configured, to fetch chapter lists and content. Please note:
- Requests go directly from your device to those websites. They never pass through our servers (we have none).
- Book-source websites will see your IP address and other standard network information, and handle it under their own privacy policies.
- We cannot control third-party book-source websites or their content. Use your own judgment when adding sources.
If you only import local files (TXT / EPUB), the app makes no network requests at all.
4. Permissions
The app requests a single system permission: INTERNET, solely for the online book-source feature described above. We request no storage, location, camera, microphone, or contacts permissions.
5. Children's Privacy
The app does not collect data from children (or from anyone, for that matter).
6. Changes to This Policy
Updates will be posted on this page with a revised "Last updated" date.
